Terms and Conditions of Illustration Commissions
You have full private, non-commercial use of your commissioned drawing, and can use it for profile pictures and the like (but you must credit me). Under no circumstances may you sell the commission nor mint it as an non-fungible token (NFT). You also may not use the image as an input to train an Artificial Intelligence (AI) image creation program.
I have the right to refuse or cancel a commission request for any reason. I will not accept commissions for anything that is illegal (pursuant to U.S. law) or that I find personally distasteful. If I decide that I will not be able or willing to complete your commission, I retain sole discretion for the issuing any refund and the distribution of the incomplete product.
You will receive two review images (proofs) to have a chance to request any changes to the drawing. One after the sketch is complete and one after the flat colors have been added. Note that once I add line art and/or color I will not be able to change the composition of the piece.
Once the commission process begins you will receive an invoice for a deposit of twenty (20) USD. By paying the deposit, you certify that you understand and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this document. This deposit is fully refundable until you have received your first proof image. You will receive a second invoice for the remainder of the agreed upon price with the second proof drawing. Once you pay the full amount you will receive the completed work as a full resolution PNG image.
You can expect the commission within a month of my accepting it, though in practice the process usually takes much less time. If it will take longer than a month for me to finish your drawing I will get in contact with you, but this will not be grounds for a discount or refund of any sort. If you fail to pay either deposit or request a refund you will not get a copy of the drawing even if I decide to continue the project.
In the end, all commissions are presented "as is." I will do my best to draw you a good picture, and if you are commissioning me I assume you are familiar with my style, but you WILL NOT get a refund just because you are unhappy with how it ultimately turned out.
I retain all rights to the drawing and may post it on my social media, professional portfolio, and any publications. I may also edit, modify, or repurpose the art as I see fit. When possible I will state that the drawing was commissioned by you, and I will not use drawing of your original characters (OCs) commercially without your express consent.
If you want to use the drawing for commercial purposes we can negotiate a freelance contract that will supersede the terms of this document.
I maintain the right to change these terms and conditions as needed and without notice.
Harassment, bullying, defamation, or other inflammatory messages personal or public will be grounds for my canceling of this commission, as well as refusing any future commissions.
By commissioning an illustration from me, you agree to these terms and conditions.
